Penis pumps, also known as masturbation pumps, vacuum erection devices (VED) or erection pumps are devices with a cylindrical chamber that is placed over the penis. They can be open on the end or be a closed chamber which creates a secure, airtight seal around the penis. A pump extracts air from the chamber, generating a vacuum while the suction effect accelerates blood flow to the penis to facilitate an erection.

Pumps usually feature a vent to adjust pressure, may be automated for hands-free use or operated manually and some can be controlled remotely via a connected device or synchronised with videos and livesteams for augmented reality (AR). They may also include other different design features such as interchangeable sleeves, heating functions, making use of water, sonic waves or LED light to stimulate cellular function and blood flow. 

Pumps can be used for addressing erectile dysfunction (ED), increasing penis size or enhancing sensation during solo or couples play including via remote control.
