Sponge Care
IntimateCare does their best to ensure each sponge is diligently inspected however, as sponges grow in the sea with other marine life, they might contain traces of typical sea residue.
Simply clean or sterilise your sponge before using on or inside your body.
Wash your sponge well between uses. Allow to air dry away from surfaces.
Cleaning Instructions
The best method of cleaning will vary depending on how you use your sponge. Choose a method that works best for you.
- Wash your sponge with a mild soap under warm water
- Soak for 10 minutes in a cup of 1:10 water: vinegar mixture
- Soak for 10 minutes in a cup of water with 1 tbsp baking soda
After cleaning, ensure you thoroughly rinse your sponge and leave it to air dry before storing.
Do not:
- Do not use harsh soaps or chemicals that can harm the delicate fibres of the sponge. Residual chemicals left on the sponge may also upset pH levels or cause skin irritation.
- Boil your sponges – this will lead to toughening and shrinking the sponges
- Leave your sponges to soak any longer than the recommended time; the sponge can deteriorate.
