Inspect the Sponge: Soak the dry sponge in warm water to expand it fully.
Inspect: Carefully inspect the sponge for any marine debris like sand or coral fragments. Remove debris with tweezers or scissors if needed.
Sanitise the Sponge: Boil the sponge gently in water with 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda for about 2 minutes. Avoid boiling longer to prevent hardening or shrinking. Let it air dry on a clean surface.
